Lucy Shahar is a specialist in cross-cultural communication and training. She has extensive experience as a consultant for corporate and organizational clients in Israel and abroad. Ms. Shahar has designed and directed courses in cross-cultural training and management for universities and social service organizations. She is currently a member of the faculty of Haifa University where she teaches cross-cultural training. Lucy Shahar and David Kurz are the authors of Border Crossings: American Interactions With Israelis (Intercultural Press, 1995.) Ms. Shahar is the author of Culture Compass Israel, a CD Rom produced by Trompenaars Hampden-Turner Intercultural Management Publishers.

Born in the U.S., Lucy Shahar grew up in New York City. She received a B.A. in European History from Barnard College and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Harvard University. Ms. Shahar is a graduate of the SIETAR Advanced Institute in Intercultural Training and the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland's third international program: "A Gestalt Approach to Organization and Systems Development."

Lucy Shahar has lived in Ramat Hasharon, a suburb of Tel Aviv, since her aliyah in 1969.
